Welcome to Quirky Crow
The story of the creation of the Quirky Crow in Jugiong is unique. When I purchased a run-down former Ampol Service Station built in the 1950s on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River I had a dream of opening a gallery and studio to showcase and sell my paintings, sketches and cartoons and the handmade ceramics created by my partner Tricia, while still maintaining the enchanting character of the original building. Over two and a half years we painted, scraped, cleaned, removed rubbish, planted, watered, eradicated weeds, employed electricians, builders and more. The premises which was in recent history an ugly duckling has emerged to its former glory as a beautiful swan, or maybe as the name denotes, a magnificent quirky crow.
Along the journey we have brought on board other artists, ceramicists, jewellery designers and makers, a glass artist, a maker of quality children’s clothes and plant growers, all of whom are from the region and share our passion for quality, original, authentic and handmade. You won’t find anything from trade fairs here!!
We are excited to welcome you to the Quirky Crow and aim to make your experience a positive one and a feast for the senses. Come and visit our vibrant, welcoming space, we’re sure you’ll find something you’ll love but you’re equally welcome if you just want to browse. You’ll see beautiful original art, lots of colour and a eclectic, rustic space. You can also see where we create our works of art in the studio which is next to the gallery.
We both look forward to you joining us soon on our journey as we grow and evolve at the Quirky Crow in the vibrant little village of Jugiong.
